David Shields
David Shields is the author of nine previous books including Black Planet, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. His work has been translated into twenty languages. He lives with his wife and daughter in Seattle, where he is a professor in the English department at the University of Washington.
Hamish Hamilton published Reality Hunger, his groundbreaking cultural manifesto, in 2010 and published his New York Times bestseller The Thing About Life Is That One Day You’ll be Dead in 2011.
